Your questions answered

How long will my charcoal toothbrush last?
For best results, most dentists recommend you replace your toothbrush at least every 3 months.

Do I still need to use toothpaste with my charcoal toothbrush?
To effectively remove surface stains from your teeth we recommend brushing your teeth without toothpaste first. Then follow as you would normally brush your teeth with toothpaste. Yes, you still need to brush with toothpaste.

What are the bristles made out of?
The activated charcoal infused bristles are made from nylon.

How do I dispose of my charcoal toothbrush?
Return your charcoal toothbrush to the earth in compost or landfill. The bamboo will biodegrade into soil, without pollution.

You can simply place your toothbrush into the soil in your backyard and it will naturally break down.

What toothpaste should I use with my charcoal toothbrush?
You can use any toothpaste of your choice with your charcoal toothbrush. We like Tom's toothpaste.

Why should I choose the charcoal toothbrush over a regular toothbrush?
Australia-wide more than 1 million plastic toothbrushes are disposed of per year.

Plastic toothbrushes cause damage to our environment, especially our marine life. The amount of plastic toothbrushes that are used and disposed around the world continues to rise and this amount of plastic will not break down in our lifetime.

Choose The Charcoal Toothbrush and be kind to the earth and your teeth.

If you need further convincing, we love this article about reducing plastic waste by Sarah Wilson, read it here.

Is the charcoal toothbrush vegan?
Yes, The Charcoal Toothbrush is 100% vegan.

Where does the bamboo come from?
The Charcoal Toothbrush is made from mao bamboo, an environmentally sustainable timber. Mao bamboo grows in China's forests at a rapid rate of one meter per day.

Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth. It is naturally regenerative, requires minimal rain and grows without the use of harmful pesticides.

Mao bamboo is used for commercial purposes only and pandas do not eat mao bamboo.

In fact, by harvesting and putting bamboo to good use we are giving purpose to an overpopulated natural resource.

How do I care for my brush?
Rinse your charcoal toothbrush thoroughly and leave to dry after use.

Should I choose a small or medium brush?
It's up to your personal preference. If you like a toothbrush with a smaller head of bristles we recommend you choose small but if you like more bristles choose medium. Our personal favourite is medium but small is our most popular style.

I am allergic to bamboo, can I still use this toothbrush?
No. We do not recommend using this toothbrush if you are allergic to bamboo, nylon or activated charcoal.
